Director – Mrs. Elaine Russell

Elaine is the Director/head choreographer for the Russell’s Studio’s that has been in existence since 1996.  Elaine has been involved avidly as a judge, twirler, supporter, coach and instructor for over 35 years in many organizations – TU, DMA, NBTA, AAU, TOB, and TIA.   Elaine was a twirler, dancer, and a model throughout her career in the performing arts.  She has taught students from the age of three through college and throughout PA, NJ, DE, VA, and OH.  In addition her students have won several national and world championships as solo students, as well as her Russell’s All Star Twirling team which is ranked one of the best in the world.  Elaine is the director for the North Stars Indoor Color Guard, Desire Indoor Color Guard, Octorara Marching Band, Russell’s All Star Twirlers, Russell’s All Star Dance Company and programs across Chester County. 

 

Coach -Miss Tammy Russell

 Tammy is a World Champion baton twirler in NBTA, TU, DMA and AAU.  She started twirling and dancing at the age of three and has trained with Mrs. Elaine Russell her entire baton twirling career.  She is a former Majorette Queen of America, International Twirling Champion, World Two baton champion, Miss Tu World majorette, World solo champion, Miss College Majorette, Junior Olympic Gold Medalist, Twirl Mania Duet Champion, World show twirling champion and over 4000 nationally ranked championships accumulated.  Tammy is the current feature twirler at West Chester University where she has received a degree in criminal justice and dance and is currently completing a Masters degree in criminal justice administration.  Tammy has performed around the world in Europe, Hawaii, Caribbean, in movies (The Lord of War with Nickolas Cage), on live television shows in Philadelphia, New York and Washington DC for Channel 6, the Cherry Blossom Festival, Thanksgiving Day Parade, half-time for the Philadelphia Eagles, Purdue University Basketball team performances, Detroit Lions half-time, WCU football, basketball, special functions, Miss WCU pageants, pep rallies, and many performances around the USA.   Tammy is a true all around champion winning titles in the local, state, regional, national, international and world levels.   Tammy is the captain of the Russell’s World Class Twirling Team as well as the coach for the baton classes, camps, North Color Guard and Octorara High School Color Guard.   Some dance choreographers Tammy has trained with is Billy Bruce, John Bunteman, Jody Ellis, Sherry Vignoli,  Beth DeVito,  Deneen McCarraher, and many more.  Tammy is currently teaching full-time at Avon Grove Charter School where she is the Middle and high school dance instructor

 Dance Choreographer -Miss Holly Russell

Holly is the head dance chorographer at the Russell’s Dance Studios.  Holly is also a World Champion baton twirler in NBTA, TU, DMA and AAU.  She started twirling and dancing at the age of three and has trained under Mrs. Russell her entire baton twirling career.  She has been company members with Jazz Force, Elevations Dance Company, Designing Rhythm Dance Company and B’s Performing Arts.   She is the Reigning Miss TU World Majorette, Internationals Two Baton Champion, former International Twirling Champion, Miss Tu World majorette, Twirl Mania Duet Champion, World show twirling champion and over thousands of championships accumulated.  Holly is the feature twirler at West Chester University where she has just received a degree in business management and dance.  Holly has performed around the world in Europe, Hawaii, Caribbean, in movies, on live television shows in Philadelphia, New York and Washington DC, for the Eagles, Purdue University, WCU, and many performances around the USA.  Holly is a fabulous dancer, twirler and choreographer.  She has been the Junior Olympic Gold medalist in dance and baton twirling which captured her the title of the Joe Farrell award to the best twirler and dancer.   She has been winning titles in the local, state, regional, national, international and world levels for dance and twirling since the age of six.   Holly is the head of the Russell’s World Class Dance Company as well as the coach for the dance classes, camps, North Color Guard and Octorara High School Twirlers.
